Dagoberto “Dago” Zubia Blanco, 47, died 06/05/11 in Amarillo, Texas as a result of a stab wound inflicted the day prior.1
Friends recall Dago (or Doggo) as a hard-working, conscientious father of four daughters and an indulging grandfather of two granddaughters.2
He’s interred in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo.
BACKGROUND
Dago was one of six children, born in Gran Morelos, Chihuahua. He resided with his wife at 1317 Jason Avenue in Amarillo.
CRIME SCENE
Dago and several friends were watching boxing at his home on Saturday 06/04/11 while his wife was at a quinceanera.
When police arrived at the scene later same day, they found him lying unresponsive in the driveway with an unnamed individual performing CPR.3
He succumbed to his injuries a few hours later on Sunday 06/05/11 at approximately 1:42 am.
Thomas Jones, Justice of the Peace, ordered an autopsy be conducted in Lubbock on Monday 06/06/11. Cause of death was ruled homicide. Dagoberto had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body.
SUSPECTS-THEORIES
Law enforcement have no published suspects or theories as of this writing. The investigation has had a few leads, but none that developed into a suspect’s identification.
