Thomas Ray Snowden, 45, was shot and killed in his Baton Rouge, Louisiana residence on 12/17/17. His was the 98th E Baton Rouge homicide in 2017.
A father of three, he worked for a lawn care company. His sister Wanda Snowden lovingly remembers him as being a sharp dresser, and a giving man, who loved to cook. His specialty was sweet potato pie and pecan candies that would melt in your mouth.
He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, but would watch any type of game, according to friend and neighbor Quintin Balancier.1
He’s interred at Roselawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Baton Rouge.2
Crime Scene
Thomas was shot on the front porch of his duplex at 3961 Clayton Drive around 8:20pm 12/17/17. Upon officer arrival, he was found inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators theorize robbery was the motive.3
Balancier, who lived on the other side of the duplex, said he heard a short scuffle and one gunshot Monday night. He ran next door where he found Thomas gravely wounded.1
Speculation
Thomas’ sister and Balancier believe the perpetrator was someone he knew, as he always kept his door locked and rarely opened the door without expecting someone. They suspect his phone may hold the answers.1
